A vision for the University to evolve over the next ten years to reflects it’s academic achievements and future aspirations

This masterplan was commissioned by the University of Winchester, in response to a request form Winchester City Council, to provide context to their new Estates Strategy 2007-17 and as a masterplan for their Winchester campuses.

It seeks to provide a vision for the University as it moves into the 21st century and towards the second centenary of the institution’s establishment in 1840. It focuses on how the Winchester campuses can continue to evolve over the next ten years and beyond to reflect the academic achievements and future aspirations of the University.

Design Engine has completed a number of elements of the masterplan for the University starting with the refurbishment of the Stripe Theatre, The University Centre which defined the boundary and provided a new entrance, The Performing Arts Faculty Studios. As well as the recent St.Alphege Building which completes the external entrance plaza created by the Stripe Theatre and the University Centre.
