Design Engine have been commissioned to develop a scheme for the new HQ building for Gordon Murray Design following an invited competition against Foster+Partners.
The 8,500sqm development will be located close to the existing GMD headquarters in Surrey and will comprise 6 buildings to be constructed across three phases, with the Design & Engineering block in phase 1, main HQ and restaurant in phase 2 and the remainder to follow in phase 3.
The scheme will be submitted for planning in February/March 2018 with construction due to start onsite in July 2018.
The project has already generated strong media coverage including front page stories in the Architects’ Journal and Dezeen.
