26 September 2017

David Gausden was invited by the Association of Jersey Architects (AJA) to deliver a talk at Jersey Architecture 2017, held at St Helier Town Hall on Friday 22nd September. The event was a joint enterprise between the Department of the Environment and the Association of Jersey Architects. It’s held every two years to celebrate and promote high quality design created and achieved by Jersey architects, designers and developers.

As one of Jersey’s Design Commissioners and a member of the Awards judging panel, David shared with the audience how designs are developed in the practice in the context of design narratives, dialogues and themes, before winners were unveiled at the Design Awards ceremony by Andy Theobald, Chair of the Jersey Architects Commission and a Partner of Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios. There were 61 entries for the awards, in 11 categories which include the people’s award, the best art work in the public domain, the best example of innovative or sustainable design and the best historic buildings project.
