Canford School recently opened the doors to its new state-of-the-art teaching, learning and independent study facility, designed with the capacity to meet the school’s current and future needs.
The Library building provides 300 linear metres of open book shelving, adjoining study areas suitable for individual and collaborative working, and adaptable seminar spaces supporting video conferencing facilities.
A single-storey glazed link building provides a new entrance, with a valuable break-out and refreshment space and connects the new Library to the existing Assembly Hall whilst creating a strong connection to the central courtyard.
The Assembly Hall’s seating capacity has increased from 570 to over 750, this has enabled Canford’s pupils to gather and hold entire school assemblies. The re-design has also created a fresh, modern feel to the existing interior, which can be set up as a multifunctional space to host an array of events.
